US
Treasury becomes world's largest customer for
Y2K fix with record-breaking purchase of Millennium
Bug Toolkit
Computer
Experts (UK) Ltd, the world-leader in the field
of PC Millennium compliance, has today announced
a record-breaking deal with the US Treasury
which will provide a 150,000-seat license for
it's award-winning Millennium Bug Toolkit -
making this the largest deal of it's kind world-wide,
to date.
"To
say that we are pleased is an understatement,"
says Ian Partington, Managing Director, Computer
Experts (UK) Ltd. "What could be a better
endorsement of our product than a record breaking
order from an organisation as large as the
US Government? It seems that the reality of
the Millennium Bug has finally begun to sink
in around the world, and we are very excited
to offer a foolproof solution amidst all of
the hype out there. We will remain on the
front lines to help the US Government - and
anyone else - solve the problems associated
with the Millennium Bug."
Almost
immediately after receiving and evaluating the
first sample of the product, a consultant acting
on behalf of the US government requested that
an additional 100 copies be sent as part of
a larger trial. After four months of stringent
testing and comparison with other products,
they then contacted Computer Experts and placed
an order for 150,000 units. Computer Experts
has now signed a blanket agreement which will
provide licenses to use the Millennium Bug Toolkit
for every PC in the US Secret Service, Internal
Revenue Service (IRS), and parts of US Customs.
The product was dispatched within 7 days of
the order being placed.
As
part of the deal, Computer Experts will be providing
the US Treasury with a team of consultants for
the commencement of the implementation period.
